Not at all. MaestroAI is designed for complete beginners through advanced musicians. If you have no music theory background, the AI can introduce concepts gradually and naturally as part of your learning experience. If you already have experience, MaestroAI adapts and meets you where you are.

You need your instrument and a phone, tablet, or computer. On eligible plans, you can optionally submit recordings for analysis; MaestroAI does not access your microphone automatically. No external hardware or clip-on tuner is required.

MaestroAI supports learning across guitar, piano, keyboard, drums, bass, accordion, string instruments, singing, music theory, ear training, repertoire, performance, and more. Your instruction is personalized to your experience, goals, and preferred musical genres.

Yes. With MaestroAI, you aren't limited to a single instrument. Start with one, study several at the same time, or explore new instruments and music skills as your interests and goals evolve.

Anytime. Switch goals mid-plan, add a second instrument, or pause one and pick up another. Your history and skills all carry forward — nothing is lost.

Currently, MaestroAI communicates with you through text. Intermediate and Advanced learners can also upload audio, video, and images for MaestroAI to review. We are actively developing voice communication so you will eventually be able to speak directly with MaestroAI, but this feature is not yet available.

YouTube gives you content. MaestroAI gives you a plan, feedback, and accountability. And one of our AI Agents to talk to. It knows where you are in your playing, where you're going with it, and adjusts when you get stuck — something no video can do.

Yes. A parent or legal guardian must create and manage accounts for minors. With that support, children as young as 7 can work toward their first MaestroAI goals and begin their musical journey.
